Boris Eifman's ballet "Anna Karenina" will be presented at the Moscow Concert Hall on February 27.

In this production, the choreographer explores the classics of world literature and discovers new plots in such cult works as "Don Quixote, or Fantasies of a Madman", "The Idiot", "The Brothers Karamazov", "The Master and Margarita" and others. In Eifman's productions, Russian and foreign viewers see a different interpretation of these works. In 2005, he created the ballet Anna Karenina to the music of P. Tchaikovsky, tickets for which change the idea of ​​the motives of the main characters.

Unbridled passions torment the main character of Eifman's production Anna Karenina, her nerves are shattered, and even motherhood does not keep her from moral decline. For Boris Yakovlevich, Anna's suicide is liberation from the darkness that envelops her soul.

The premiere of the production was met with thunderous applause. For two decades, it has not left the stage, continuing to amaze, cause controversy, shock and bring real pleasure from an encounter with high art.

Over the years, ballerinas Maria Abashova, Anastasia Sitnikova and Vera Zmievets performed the part of Anna, and Yuri Smekalov and Alexei Turko - the part of Vronsky. Albert Galichanin and Oleg Markov embodied the image of Karenina.

The performances of the play were successfully held on the stages of the Vienna Opera, the Latvian National Opera and the Kazakh Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abay, and are now continuing at the Boris Eifman Ballet Theater.
