Is there a limit to human capabilities? That is the question Eifman asked himself when staging this ballet. Every person has potential. Someone can “awaken” it themselves, while others need a sensitive teacher. But even if a person has a talented mentor, will this be a guarantee of his future happiness? It turns out that it will not! Art can bring people together, but there is also just life, which dictates its own cruel rules.

Gala is a simple girl living in a poor neighborhood. Her job is to be a barker. She invites wealthy gentlemen to take a ride in her father's carriage. By chance, she meets Leon, a rich, handsome young man, a famous ballroom dancing star. Gradually, feelings for Leon and a passion for dancing begin to develop in her. Leon undertakes to teach Gala the art of dance. Desperate to teach the girl graceful steps, Leon resorts to modern technology - he turns the girl into a mechanical doll. Gala and Leon win a dance competition, but alas: they can no longer be together. Gala's place is the slums, while Lyon is made to shine on stage.

The ballet premiered at the end of winter 2019.
