Budapest audiences captivated by Boris Eifman's ballet "The Pygmalion Effect"

On June 10, the exciting premiere of Boris Eifman's ballet "The Pygmalion Effect" took place in Budapest on the stage of the Hungarian State Opera House.

This amazing performance, based on the ancient myth of an artist who brings his creation to life, was presented by the Hungarian National Ballet. The work of the famous Russian choreographer to the music of Johann Strauss Jr. caused enthusiastic responses from the Western public. The creative team working on this performance was truly international. British conductor David Coleman, known for his collaboration with the Paris Opera, the Berlin State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera and other leading theaters, took his place at the conductor's stand. The leading and leading roles in the ballet were performed by dancers from different countries, including Hungary, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Japan, Italy and others. When working with the Budapest troupe, the choreographer was assisted by the leading soloist of the theatre Lyubov Andreeva and the troupe's teacher-repetiteur Ilya Osipov.

The premiere of "The Pygmalion Effect" created a real sensation among the Budapest audience, which did not skimp on enthusiastic comments on social networks. One of the viewers wrote: "A brilliant performance... A magnificent combination of classical and modern ballet." Another review reads: "A fantastic show at the opera house. I haven't seen such a magnificent performance for a long time." Residents of Budapest call the production "stunning" and Boris Eifman himself "a great choreographer."

In October, the Alexandrinsky Theatre will host a performance of this stunning ballet.
