Ballet Genius in Asia: Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre Goes on Tour
In the second half of October, the Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre went on a major tour of Asia. This is a unique event for the troupe, as the last time they performed in China was four years ago. The theatre troupe will present its brilliant productions in the United Arab Emirates, Thailand and China.
The tour started in Dubai, where on October 18 and 19, Dubai Opera spectators saw exclusive performances of the EIFMAN GALA concert program: fragments of the most famous ballets, such as Rodin, Her Eternal Idol, Beyond Sin, Red Giselle, Tchaikovsky. PRO et CONTRA, as well as The Passion According to Moliere, or The Mask of Don Juan.
An equally bright show awaited Thai spectators. For the first time in its history, the Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre performed in the capital of Thailand. On October 21 and 22, the Cultural Center of Thailand hosted performances of the ballet Anna Karenina.
And on October 26, the largest and most anticipated event began - a tour of China! It is there, in the country's major cities such as Shenzhen, Shanghai, Nanjing, Xi'an, Suzhou and Beijing, that our troupe will present the ballets Anna Karenina and Eugene Onegin. The Chinese public has already come to love the plastic interpretation of L. N. Tolstoy's novel, staged by Boris Eifman. And the famous novel by A. S. Pushkin in a ballet production will be seen by Chinese audiences for the first time! The country's leading stage venues are already waiting for us with impatience.
