Ballet "Beyond Sin" at the Alexandrinsky Theatre: philosophy and dance in one impulse
The ballet "Beyond Sin" by the Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre, inspired by the novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky "The Brothers Karamazov", invites the audience to an unforgettable immersion into the world of complex emotional experiences and philosophical reflections. This work, staged to the music of S. V. Rachmaninov, R. Wagner and M. P. Mussorgsky, comes to life again on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre - one of the most prestigious theatres in St. Petersburg, famous for its rich history and magnificent architecture.
The designer Vyacheslav Okunev created the set design, which organically complements the profound choreography of Boris Eifman. In this ballet, as in all his works, Eifman seeks to unravel the mysteries of the human soul, exploring the complex spheres of the existence of the spirit. "Beyond Sin" is not just a ballet, it is a plastic psychodrama that addresses the eternal questions of faith, unbelief, sinfulness and spiritual salvation.
Against the backdrop of the value crisis of the 21st century, Eifman returns to moral foundations, creating a work that touches on the themes of God-fighting and God-seeking. This ballet will not leave indifferent those who seek depth and meaning in art.
