Boris Eifman Theatre invites you to ballets
On February 28 the troupe will come to the Moscow Concert Hall with the ballet "Eugene Onegin". "Eugene Onegin" is a ballet by Boris Eifman based on the novel in verse by A.S. Pushkin to the music of P.I. Tchaikovsky, A. Sitkovetsky, the premiere of which took place in 2009. After so many years, the production of the immortal novel in verse gathers full houses. In the ballet, Eifman combined the classics and the modern. Pushkin's heroes are transformed into iconic characters of our time, who also live and experience difficulties in an anxious era of change.
March 17 – the Alexandrinsky Theater will host a performance of the ballet "On the Other Side of Sin". This is the choreographer's fourth turn to the novels of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky. Eifman once again rethought and staged a ballet based on the book "Crime and Punishment". There, on the other side of sin, all human vices are visible, and souls are naked in a bewitchingly beautiful dance. The premiere took place in 2013, and the ballet was immediately loved by both critics and ordinary people. The performance was created to the music of S. V. Rachmaninov, R. Wagner and M. P. Mussorgsky. In it, the choreographer asks and answers the most difficult philosophical questions of our existence using the body language of the dancers.
March 18 and 19 at the Alexandrinsky Theatre, the ballet "Russian Hamlet". "Russian Hamlet" is a ballet by Boris Eifman to the music of L. Beethoven and G. Mahler, which tells us about the difficult fate of Emperor Paul I, who inherited Russia after his mother, Catherine the Great. By limiting the chronological framework of the production to the period of his reign, the choreographer showed how subtly Paul felt and experienced what was happening to him. The young Tsarevich, opposed to the world built by his powerful mother, searches for himself, but loses to the treachery, lies and violence of the Russian court. The premiere took place on June 24, 1999, the new version - April 26, 2017. This is one of the most tragic and profound performances of Eifman.
Tickets for the ballets of the Boris Eifman Theater are stories of human destinies told in dance, a rethinking of classical works and events of real characters of bygone eras.
