Eifman Theatre: Ballet that speaks the language of the soul

The St. Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre of Boris Eifman is one of the most striking phenomena on the map of contemporary Russian art. Founded in 1977 by the outstanding choreographer Boris Eifman, from the first years of its existence it became a synonym for creative freedom, plastic novelty and intellectual depth.

Eifman is a unique figure. Already in the 1970s, his performances amazed the audience with the boldness of their choreographic language: the classical school enriched with elements of modernism, dramaturgy based on philosophical and literary sources, expression bordering on catharsis. It was Eifman who offered the world a new approach to ballet - as a synthesis of psychology, philosophy and plasticity.

The theater's first productions - "Only Love", "Interrupted Song", "Boomerang", "The Idiot" - became a revolution on the national stage. Eifman was not afraid to work with rock music, to address political themes, to stage ballets based on the works of Dostoevsky and even on the tragic fate of Viktor Jara. These performances not only formed the face of the troupe, but also determined the vector of development of all Russian modern ballet.

Today, the Boris Eifman Ballet Theater is an international brand. Its tours take place all over the world, performances gather full houses in New York, Paris, Tokyo. However, you can also see legendary productions in St. Petersburg. New and classic works are available to the audience during the theater season - just buy tickets on our website.

The Eifman Theater is not just ballet. It is live emotion, drama in motion, a challenge to templates. Buying tickets means touching the great.
