"Rodin, Her Eternal Idol": The Tragedy of a Genius
As part of the summer series of performances dedicated to the anniversary of Boris Eifman, viewers will see the production "Rodin, Her Eternal Idol" about the difficult fate of the sculptor and his muse.
Rodin and his muse, his love, the artist Claudel, formed one creative and sensual symbiosis for 15 long years. A creative break that happened one day caused deep mental trauma to the artist and shook her mental health. For 30 years from that moment on, she lived in psychiatric clinics, convinced that there was a conspiracy against her led by Rodin. She saw her beloved everywhere and died in a mental hospital, forgotten and abandoned by everyone.
The plasticity of the dance, the sensuality of the ballet dancers and the incredible choreographic pattern they created on stage best reveal the theme of the tragedy of genius, the inseparable connection between powerful creative talent and madness.
