The Alexandrinsky Theatre will once again show the ballet "Anna Karenina" by the Boris Eifman Theatre
Eifman has toured Asia and Europe many times, and his ballets based on the classic works of Chekhov, Maupassant, Zola and Dostoevsky were a huge success. He does not set himself the task of reproducing the plot of the sources; Eifman is interested in the psychological twists and turns of the characters, which he reveals to the audience in dance.
In the ballet, all attention is focused on the characters who live, suffer, are jealous, make difficult choices and bear responsibility for them. The psychological drama of each is told with the help of choreography, lighting, the language of movement, but with a minimum of costumes and scenery. But every detail of the props on the stage, every movement of the artist reveal new, hidden meanings of Tolstoy's immortal novel. The path of the heroes is full of mistakes, torment, and each of them changes and seems to mature. The hardest thing is the changes in Anna, who eventually decides to commit suicide.
